NDLEA Arrests Ex-Footballer For Importing Cocaine Into Nigeria (Video)

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested an ex-footballer for importing cocaine into Nigeria.

This was made known on Sunday by the spokesperson of the NDLEA, Femi Babafemi via his Twitter account.

Though Babafemi didn’t reveal the name of the ex-footballer, Babafemi said he was busted at the Lagos international airport and promised to make more details available shortly.

The cocaine was carefully concealed in metal as revealed in the video shared by the NDLEA official.

Sharing the video of how the drugs were concealed, he wrote: “Video shows how an ex-footballer imported cocaine into Nigeria. Just imagine the time and energy it takes to conceal this when you know there’s no guarantee ⁦

Another video shared on the NDLEA handle also reveald that its officers at the Lagos airport discovered cocaine concealed in bag handles by the ex-footballer and black cocaine in bags’ false bottom by another Brazilian returnee.

NDLEA Announces Massive Drug Bust

It will be recalled that the NDLEA about two weeks ago, announced the seizure of 1.8 tonnes of cocaine reportedly worth “N194 billion” in Ikorodu, Lagos state.

Omadaily reports that this was made known on Monday by NDLEA’s Spokesperson, Femi Babafemi.

The operation which was described as the “biggest singular cocaine seizure” in the agency’s history was carried out at a warehouse in the Ikorodu area of the state.

According to the statement, amongst those arrested by the NDLEA is a Jamaican identified as Kelvin Smith who is part of an international drug syndicate.

This online newspaper reports that four other people were arrested including the warehouse manager.
